Smoke Vents
The image above shows an example of an Smoke Vent installation by Design at Milton Cross School, Portsmouth.
Positioned over the main corridors of the building, these five mono pitch smoke vents each measure three metres by seven metres and are fitted with electrically controlled glass louvres. In the event of smoke being detected within the building, sensors are programmed to open the louvres on the side of the housings opposite to the wind direction.
Temperature Controls
The image shows an installation by Design at Manor School near Bristol. Purpose made roof windows each measuring 1500 x 600mm were fitted with automatic opening devices programmed to control the temperature within the school as well as to open automatically in the event of smoke being detected in the building.
